Staff Meeting - Literacy - Tuesday 1st May 2018

- Using Library online - this can be used to search for books but is also linked to sites like TVNZ and National Geographic and can produce high quality information on a variety of topics, even those that are more conceptual such as exploration or conflict.
- Penny is happy to run a session on using this with classes. She can also aid in locating books, helping students make the right book choices and run read aloud sessions with a small group of students.

- Chapter Chat - Has a book at each year level for the term with resources - Could consider doing the chat part of this at a different time within our school as the time clashes for the NZ chat.

- Think about finding more sophisticated picture books to share with students during our UOI - Penny have Teacher Notes for these that she can share.

- A variety of books shared that can entice students - David Hill & Fleur Beale
